The existing Vredelust building which is regarded as of IIIA Heritage status, underwent interior refurbishments which produced a modern and vibrant office environment while maintaining the exterior aesthetic which is of heritage significance.
This was achieved with the introduction of a new double volume office area which, along with the frameless glass partitioning, allows for natural light into the core of the building. A physical connection between the modern layout and the historic building is achieved where the modern steel and timber staircase meets the original brick work in its unfinished state.
